NYSC IS A SUFFER HEAD OLYMPICS

If it must continue, it should be better!

If you do not agree, just stop reading now.

I’ll never understand what fellow corp members, family and NYSC officials congratulate corp members for when they get into camp, leave camp and when they pass out after one year.
Asides the unnecessary sunbathing, rubbish sleeping hours, rubbish paperwork before and after camp, what concrete positive effect has NYSC had on you? I really would love to know?
Here are a few points that I find very irritating about the program

  1. The 3-week camp is as redundant as redundancy gets. People just use it to escape realities now and take pictures.
  2. 95% of all the registrations they do on and off camp, can be done online. I don’t see why I have to be carrying a clear white bag, and trotting around Lagos in extremely hot khakis.
  3. Why do you need to collect my biometrics 11 times?
  4. Why do I have to physically submit clearance letters monthly? Can’t it be emailed by my PPA?
  5. Asides the people that can’t hold down jobs (Who should be adequately trained), 70% of these Corpers still don’t get jobs after the program, so wetin be the point gan gan ?!

This boy is only talking about problems, you say, what are the solutions
Here are a few processes that can make the program easier for everyone

  1. Set up a proper web portal where all registrations, during, before and after camp can be done, Corpers can upload their monthly clearance letters and whatnot.
  2. Set it up that good companies hire youth Corpers and keep them for another year after their NYSC. 2 year experience will do better in a job search.
  3. Disband that rubbish camp that military and paramilitary men use for d*ck measuring contest. And Corpers use for intense fornication, and photoshoots!
  4. That khaki is even too hot for this weather. Jesus!
  5. Think of other ways NYSC stressed your life, yes that idea you had is a better process.
It’s 2020, how long are we going to keep doing things like in the ‘70s
Mehn, I don frustrate!
